This is small and bright, bright red - perhaps there is also a red photosynthetic pigment? But if you look closely, you can see a ressmblence to foliose lichen - which resolves my nibbling doubts about whether life-forms that ressemble fractals are an Earth-only thing. --Jane Van Susteren, Exobiology Lead
